Takes A Tribe
After reading "Takes A Tribe" in Remix, I have to agree with the majority that was said. It was basically and excerpt about how when in college people form different "Tribes" and groups and how they are stereotypes for those groups of people, and it really is true. When people go to college they want to feel like they belong so they join a group and basically meld themselves into them so they can fit in. People will sometimes loose themselves in trying to be part of something else. But other ties its not as bad as it seems. For example, "Tribes" can just be a group of people in the same major. For example, I am a theatre major. People probably have the stereotype that were a bunch of geeks, art freaks, strange, or took the easy way out of school by choosing an easy major. None of that is true anyway. It takes a lot of work and dedication. Anyway, people in a theatre major are part of a tribe, as people that who are studying biology are part of a different tribe. They also said in the book that those different tribes, even inside the same college, do things to differentiate themselves from each other like thinking one is better than the other or having some sort of competition with each other.
