Myspace outage

    After reading "Myspace Outage" I was in shock and disgusted. This shows that technology has really affected our community in a negative way. People were freaking out because they couldn't check their profile, and one girl said she lost all sense of self because she didn't have an "about me" anymore. I mean, really? They now have a psychological term for people like this. I think this generation has been caught up in too much technology and its ruining all of us. I honestly wouldn't mind if we lost myspace, Facebook, twitter and all the social networking sights. I mean, we did grow up without it so how hard is it really going to be to not click open a Facebook page or update a status? I think t would be really easy for me, but not for others, obviously.  Facebook is even going under as we speak, basically none of my friends are on it anymore anyways. There really isn't a use for it then to connect to family and friends that are far away from you. whatever happened to actually giving someone a phone call? Those days are gone. I just dont get how people can loose their sense of self over a social network. It really worries me for what lies ahead for us in our future.
